treeCedrus is a genus of coniferous evergreen trees in the family Pinaceae, native to the mountains of the western Himalayas and the Mediterranean region. The trees grow tall with a cylindrical trunk and a wide leafy crown, with needle leaves growing in tufts of 15–45, and erect cones that disintegrate to release winged seeds.
Suitable for light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils; prefers well-drained soil. Can tolerate mildly acid, neutral, basic (mildly alkaline) and very alkaline soils.
