AmaranthA beautiful, classic cut flower where the entire plant is actually edible and delicious! Easy to grow; it looks great in both flower beds and vegetable patches. The leaves are tasty and nutritious, used in cooking much like spinach. Dried seeds can be used in soups and stews, roasted, or used like sesame seeds. You can also make porridge from the seeds; boil them for 30 minutes in twice the volume of water. Outdoor sowing: June–July (cook the seedlings that are thinned out). Indoor sowing: April; requires light to germinate, so do not cover the seeds with soil. Harvest: Harvest leaves continuously. Position: Sunny Height: 120 cm
