So… What Exactly Is Garden Kinship?

So, I might have forgotten to make an actual post about what this website is, why I made it, and so on… Oops!
Hi, I am Pernille. I am a professional gardener, a lover of all things green, and the person behind Garden Kinship.
For years, my hands have been in the soil, learning the quiet rhythms of nature — gardening has always been my sanctuary. But when it came to planning my own garden on a screen, that sanctuary disappeared. Every app I tried felt stiff, impersonal, and exhausting: spreadsheet-grey interfaces designed for office cubicles, not flourishing beds. Instead of sparking creativity, they turned the most joyful part of the process into homework.
I realized we needed something entirely different. We needed a space that matched the peace of a real garden, something visual, soft, and inviting.
I built a brand new visual tool for garden planning. Our goal was to step away from the rigid grids and clinical interfaces of the past. Instead, we focused on bringing a softer, more illustrated feel to the screen. Imagine a digital canvas that feels like stepping into a serene watercolor painting, where every interaction is designed to keep you in a state of mindful presence.
I wanted to create a platform that is actually joyful to use. A place where you can map out your vegetable beds, arrange your flowers, and dream up new planting schemes without feeling like you are doing homework. Best of all, Garden Kinship is completely free — and that will never change.
My greatest hope for Garden Kinship is that it becomes a gentle companion on your gardening journey. I want it to be a cozy corner of the internet where you can gather your thoughts, find inspiration, and watch your botanical dreams take root. Whether you have a sprawling backyard or a few pots on a balcony, my ambition is to help you cultivate your space with joy and ease.
Thanks for being here, and I cannot wait to see what beautiful things we will grow together!
With warmth,
Pernille

Beans, beans, beans!
They are beautiful in their growth habit with their green foliage winding up toward the sky with a color that makes you happy and then come the bean pods! Hanging there with different shapes and colors, they give the green foliage that little bit extra! And finally! The harvest of the beautiful beans! It is just as exciting every time to open a dried bean pod. How did the color turn out? How many are there?

March, new beginnings
The March sowing is normally split into 2 rounds, but this year March went by so fast that I completely missed that we were already at the end of the month!
