Dryopteris filix-mas, commonly known as the male fern, is a semi-evergreen fern native to much of Europe, Asia, and North America. The upright leaves reach a maximum length of 150 cm, with bipinnate fronds consisting of 20–35 pinnae on each side. The stalks are covered with distinctive orange-brown scales, and spores ripen between August and November.
Also a perennial — same seasonal rhythm as Male fern
Water: Medium · Height: 150 cm · Soil: Prefers damp shaded areas; tolerates well-drained sites in cooler regions
These three thrive alongside Male fern — and alongside each other.
