Howea forsteriana, commonly known as the Kentia palm or thatch palm, is a slow-growing palm species endemic to Lord Howe Island in Australia. It eventually reaches up to 10 m (33 ft) tall with fronds that can reach 3 m (10 ft) long, and became popular as a Victorian-era houseplant due to its ability to thrive in low light and poor air quality conditions.
