flowerLiatris is a genus of flowering plants commonly known as blazing star and gayfeather, native to North America. These are perennial plants that survive winter and respout from underground corms, characterized by flower heads with disc florets and no ray florets, often used as ornamental plants and in flower bouquets.
Prefers well-drained soil, tolerates poor soils, suitable for light sandy and medium loamy soils with mildly acid to basic pH. Plants are prone to rot in wet soils overwinter.
