flowerTradescantia is a genus of herbaceous perennial wildflowers in the family Commelinaceae, native to the Americas. The plants grow 30–60 cm tall and are commonly found in wooded areas and open fields, with flowers in shades of blue, pink, purple, or white that bloom from June to October.
Suitable for light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils. Prefers mildly acid, neutral and basic (mildly alkaline) soils. Can tolerate dry or moist soil.
