March, new beginnings

March 22, 2026 · 2 min read
March — that is when the sowing starts for real, and as usual you cannot keep up!
The March sowing is normally split into 2 rounds, but this year March went by so fast that I completely missed that we were already at the end of the month! So everything gets crammed into the week ahead. The to-do list is enormous — seeds to start, beds to prepare, structures to mend — but new projects will have to wait for autumn. Every ounce of energy goes to spring.
Today's garden count: two bumblebee queens, a honey bee queen, a scatter of ladybugs, and one bold butterfly. If that isn't proof that spring has arrived, nothing is.

Beans, beans, beans!
They are beautiful in their growth habit with their green foliage winding up toward the sky with a color that makes you happy and then come the bean pods! Hanging there with different shapes and colors, they give the green foliage that little bit extra! And finally! The harvest of the beautiful beans! It is just as exciting every time to open a dried bean pod. How did the color turn out? How many are there?

So… What Exactly Is Garden Kinship?
So, I might have forgotten to make an actual post about what this website is, why I made it, and so on… Oops!
