Schlumbergera is a small genus of cacti native to the coastal mountains of southeastern Brazil. These epiphytic cacti grow on trees and rocks in shady, humid habitats and produce distinctive segmented, leaf-like stems with vibrant flowers that typically bloom during the winter holidays in the Northern Hemisphere.
Water: Medium Β· Height: 30 cm Β· Soil: Well-draining potting soil; prefers slightly acidic to neutral pH. Avoid waterlogging.
Christmas Cactus is usually grown from cuttings rather than seed. Take a healthy stem cutting, remove the lower leaves, and root it in moist, free-draining compost.
