shrubCornus is a genus of approximately 30–60 species of woody plants in the family Cornaceae, commonly known as dogwoods or cornels. Most are deciduous trees or shrubs distinguished by their blossoms, berries, and distinctive bark, with native species found throughout temperate and boreal Eurasia and North America.
Suitable for light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils. Prefers mildly acid, neutral and basic (mildly alkaline) soils. Grows well in poorly drained soils.
