Deschampsia cespitosa
Deschampsia cespitosa, commonly known as tufted hairgrass or tussock grass, is a perennial tufted grass in the family Poaceae. It is characterized by deeply grooved, dark green upper leaf surfaces that feel rough in one direction but smooth in the opposite, and it produces long, narrow, pointed ligules. The plant can grow to approximately 1.4 m (4.5 ft) in height and flowers from June to August.
