shrubDeutzia is a genus of about 60 species of flowering plants in the family Hydrangeaceae, native to eastern and central Asia. Most species are deciduous shrubs ranging from 1–4 m in height, producing white, pink, or reddish flowers in panicles or corymbs during spring, with opposite simple leaves with serrated margins.
Tolerates light sandy, medium loamy, and heavy clay soils; prefers well-drained, fertile, humus-rich soil; suitable for mildly acid, neutral, and basic (mildly alkaline) soils including very alkaline soils.
