Shrubby cinquefoil is a compact, broadleaf, deciduous flowering shrub native to Canada, Europe, Northern Asia, and the Northern United States. It is a member of the rose family (Rosaceae) and typically grows 2 to 4 feet tall with dense, rounded form and numerous upright branches. The leaves are medium to blue-green, pinnately or palmately compound with 3 to 7 leaflets (usually 5). Bright yellow, saucer-shaped, 5-petaled flowers bloom from June to September, with many cultivars available in white, pink, red, and gold.
