White mustard (Sinapis alba), also called yellow mustard, is an annual plant in the cabbage family native to the Mediterranean region, Europe, and Tropical Asia. It grows to approximately 70 centimetres high with stalkless pinnate leaves and yellow flowers containing 4 petals. The plant is grown primarily for its seeds, which are used to make mustard condiment, as a fodder crop, or as green manure.
