Chioggia beet is a heirloom variety of garden beet (Beta vulgaris) distinguished by its striking candy-striped or concentric rings of red and white flesh when sliced. The roots are medium-sized, typically 5-7 cm in diameter, with a sweet, tender flavor and less earthy taste than common red beets.

Direct-sow Chioggia beet outdoors about 2 weeks after your last frost, keeping seeds in cooler soil (around 10–18 °C). Seeds usually come up in around 7 days. Grow in full sun, spaced about 10 cm apart. Expect to harvest in roughly 60 days.
