Kniphofia is a genus of perennial flowering plants native to Africa, belonging to the family Asphodelaceae. The plants produce distinctive spikes of upright, brightly coloured flowers well above the foliage, in shades of red, orange and yellow, often bicoloured, and are notable for producing copious nectar that attracts bees and nectar-feeding birds.
