Summer savory is an edible annual herb with a mild peppery, tangy marjoram-like flavor. The plant produces attractive lilac tubular flowers that bloom from July to September, grows 30–60 cm tall with very slender bronze-green leaves, and is commonly used in culinary applications to flavor soups, teas, vinegars, meats, and cabbage. It has marked medicinal benefits, especially for the digestive system, and is valued for its aromatic and decorative qualities.

Water: Medium · Height: 45 cm · Soil: Rich, light loam soil with high organic matter, good drainage, and alkaline pH (>8.0). Does not perform well in damp soil or shade.
