Wild rocket is a heat-tolerant perennial herb native to the Mediterranean region and member of the mustard family (Brassicaceae). It grows as an erect or sprawling plant up to 1.3 m tall with deeply pinnate leaves that have a strong peppery flavor and musty smell. The plant produces branched racemes of bright yellow flowers from late spring through fall, and all parts of the plant including the leaves and flowers are edible.
