Alpine strawberry (Fragaria vesca) is a perennial herbaceous plant in the rose family that grows naturally throughout much of the Northern Hemisphere and produces edible fruits. The plant bears five to eleven soft, hairy white flowers on stalks that typically rise above the leaves, and spreads primarily by runners (stolons), though viable seeds can establish new populations.
