herbFestuca is a genus of flowering plants in the grass family Poaceae (subfamily Pooideae). They are evergreen, herbaceous, or perennial, tufted grasses with a height range of 10–200 cm and a cosmopolitan distribution occurring on every continent except Antarctica.
Suitable for light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils. Prefers moist soil. Can tolerate mildly acid, neutral and basic (mildly alkaline) soils.
