Rockspray cotoneaster is a coarse, dense, slow-growing shrub with a distinctive horizontal spreading habit and unusual fishbone branch pattern. It reaches 2–3 feet tall and 6–8 feet wide, producing spring blooms followed by abundant showy red fruits and reddish-purple fall colors in deciduous areas; in southern regions it is semi-evergreen to evergreen.
