herbEpimedium is a genus of herbaceous perennials in the Berberidaceae family, growing to approximately 0.4 m (1 ft 4 in) tall with a spreading habit. The plants are characterized by compound leaves with spiny margins and distinctive four-parted spider-like flowers that bloom in spring, typically in lavender, pink, or white colors.
Suitable for light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils. Prefers mildly acid and neutral soils. Can tolerate dry or moist soil.
