herbTagetes minuta is an annual herb growing to 1.2 m (4 ft) tall and 0.6 m (2 ft) wide, native to South America and naturalized in southern Europe. The dried leaves are used as an aromatic seasoning with an apple-like flavor, and an essential oil from the flowering plant is used in food flavoring.
Suitable for light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils; prefers well-drained soil; can grow in heavy clay soil; suitable pH: mildly acid, neutral and basic (mildly alkaline) soils.
