Camellia is a genus of flowering plants in the family Theaceae, comprising over 220 described species found in tropical and subtropical areas of eastern and southern Asia. They are evergreen shrubs and small trees, popular as ornamental plants worldwide, with some species producing tea leaves (C. sinensis) and tea seed oil (C. oleifera).

Camellia is usually grown from cuttings rather than seed. Take a healthy stem cutting, remove the lower leaves, and root it in moist, free-draining compost.
