herbBistorta amplexicaulis, commonly known as red bistort or mountain fleece, is a herbaceous perennial in the buckwheat family (Polygonaceae) native to China, the Himalayas, and Pakistan. It grows to approximately 1.2 m tall and wide, featuring heart-shaped pointed leaves with downy undersides and narrow spikes of rose-red or white flowers that bloom in summer.
