Parlor palm is a solitary, understory member of the palm family native to southern Mexico and northern Central America. It is a slender, woody plant with pinnately compound leaves and can grow 5–6 feet tall indoors, though typically smaller. This species thrives in low-light and dry-air conditions where other plants struggle, making it one of the most sought-after indoor palms. It is non-toxic to pets and has been shown to remove indoor air pollutants.
