herbLamium is a genus of about 30 species of flowering plants in the family Lamiaceae, native to Eurasia and northern Africa. The genus includes both annual and perennial herbaceous species that spread by seeds and stems rooting as they grow along the ground, featuring square stems, coarsely textured paired leaves with striking patterns, and double-lipped flowers in a wide range of colours.
Suitable for light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils; prefers well-drained soil but can grow in heavy clay; mildly acid, neutral and basic (mildly alkaline) soils; prefers moist soil.
Thrives in the same partial sun, moderate water conditions as Dead-nettle
